The Charlotte, N.C. based 812th Transportation Battalion, 81st Regional Readiness Command  provides convoy security detail during the unit's year-long deployment. A small squad of soldiers in several unarmored humvees, provide protection for KBR contractor convoys transporting supplies on Iraq's deadly roads through the heart of the Sunni triangle dodging IEDs and roadside attacks. This duty proved to be one of the most dangerous missions in Iraq.
